Retriever Hunting Tests
Yadkin River Waterfowl & Retriever Club Hunt Test

Yadkin River Waterfowl & Retriever Club held its eleventh hunt test on April 16-18, 2004. The test was held at the Alamance Wildlife Club grounds in Graham, North Carolina. The club offered Master, Senior and Junior tests. There were 69 Master entries, 32 Senior entries on Saturday and 29 on Sunday and 46 Junior entries on Saturday and 37 on Sunday.

Exhibitors came to North Carolina for the Yadkin River Waterfowl & Retriever Club tests from states as far away as Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky, Alabama, and South Carolina.

There were, of course, Labrador Retrievers, a Flat-Coated Retriever, Golden Retrievers, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, a Standard Poodle and two Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers.

Saturday morning started off cool, by 8:30 AM the day began to heat up. The judges for the Saturday Senior test were Bruce Kincaid and Margo Meyers. 32 dogs entered, 2 scratched, 23 passed the land series and moved onto water. We had 12 dogs pass the water series to receive a qualifying leg towards their Senior title.
