Decatur County World's Largest Coon Hunt Benefit
for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
April 12-14, 2007 - Parsons, Tennessee

The Decatur County World's Largest Coon Hunt, an AKC-licensed coonhound event, has raised more than $3 million for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. The event raised $208,000 last year alone! The American Kennel Club is committed to the purpose of the event and makes a sizeable annual donation to this very worthy cause. AKC Chairman of the Board Ron Menaker, AKC Vice Chairman of the Board David Merriam, and AKC Chief Operating Officer John Lyons will be on hand on Friday and Saturday at this year's event to present the AKC's annual contribution of $10 thousand to the Decatur County World's Largest Coon Hunt.

The entire AKC organization believes strongly in the work of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and demonstrates that support through an annual employee's fund raiser. This year's effort broke all previous records with AKC employees raising $1800 to be presented to the Decatur County volunteers along with additional contributions to be received at the AKC booth this weekend.

The following sums up the mission of the St. Jude project: All patients accepted for treatment at St. Jude are treated without regard to the family's ability to pay. We never stop looking for cures. For any child. Ever.
