Enrique Jorge Filippini
Enrique J. Filippini, of Buenos Aires, Argentina, began his career in dogs showing Boxers more than 30 years ago. Venturing into other breeds, like Miniature Pinschers, Borzoi, and Italian Greyhounds, Mr. Filippini has shown dogs of various groups to championships and Bests in Show. He has won "Best Dog of the Year, All Breeds" with several of his Alba’s Imperial Shih Tzu and, as a result, was "Best Breeder" and "Best Exhibitor," all breeds, in 1979, 1980, 1984, and 1989. He and his partner, all-breed judge David Ojalvo, were the first breeders in their country to earn this title four times. In 1984, Mr. Filippini was approved to judge FCI’s Group IX, the Toy and Companionship Group. Attaining all-breed and Best in Show status for FCI in 1988, Mr. Filippini judges all groups and BIS for the AKC and the Federacion Cinolégica Argentina.
He is recognized as a "specialist judge" for all varieties of Poodles, both varieties of Chihuahuas, and Dalmatians, Shih Tzu, Kuvaszok, and Afghan Hounds.
Important assignments include World Dog Shows in Mexico City (2007), Argentina (2005), Brazil [2004), and Holland (2002). He has also judged several American and Caribbean championship dog shows.
Retired from exhibiting since 1994, Mr. Filippini is still an active breeder.
