Edd E. Bivin
Edd E. Bivin, of Ft. Worth, Texas, began in the sport at age 12, and while still in high school he bred the winner of the Pomeranian Club of America national specialty. He counts among his mentors Maxine Beam and Anne Rogers Clark.
Mr. Bivin began his judging career at age 21. He is approved for numerous breeds and groups, as well as Best in Show. He says that "the biggest thrill in my judging career" was awarding BIS at the 1999 Westminster show to Papillon Ch. Loteki Supernatural Being. He has judged many national specialties in all groups for which he is approved.
Mr. Bivin served for 18 years as vice-chancellor of administrative services at his alma mater, Texas Christian University. He is chairman of Take the Lead, which provides direct services, support, and care for those in the sport of dogs who suffer from life-threatening or terminal illness.
Mr. Bivin, who was married to fellow BIS judge Irene Nail Bivin for 30 years, provides color commentary for the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship broadcast.
