AKC/Eukanuba National Championship to Feature Eukanuba's Super Retriever Series Dock Jumping Competition

The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship will feature a new special attraction this year with the addition of Eukanuba's Super Retriever Series Dock Jumping Competition. The event will serve as an official Super Dock Qualifier for the Super Retriever Series Crown Championship to be held in May 2009, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

This will be the second event of the 2008/2009 Super Retriever Series (SRS) season to feature Super Fly (the canine equivalent of the broad jump) and Super V (high-jump) teams.

Three-time defending Super V Crown Champions Melissa Ness and Stryker will be among the competitors vying for the Super V title. Stryker is the current SRS Super V record holder with a vertical jump of 7'6". Thanh Nguyen and Henry, the 2007 Reno SRS Qualifier Champs, are the favorites for the Super Fly competition. Henry, a 6-year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever, is currently ranked either first or second in all major dock jumping competitions. All of the Super Fly teams will be chasing the SRS record of 27'10" set by Jag and Rande Murphy.

Super Retriever Series commentator and organizer Justin Tackett will appear with his dog Yella. Tackett and Yella are the stars of Ducks Unlimited® WaterDog™, a television series that airs on the Versus.

The 2008/2009 season of the Super Retriever Series will air in 2009 on VERSUS. Check the SRS TV Schedule - SuperRetrieverSeries.com/scheduler/ - for exact airdates and times.
