World Agility Championships
AKC/USA World Agility Championship Team
Oslo, Norway
Day One — September 24, 2007

The adventure begins. The AKC/USA World Team (minus one) has arrived in Oslo, Norway. The congestion at JFK airport caused delays for all flights, which meant missed connecting flights. When you miss a connecting flight to Europe, it amounts to an entire day delay. Allison Parr and her Sheltie, Sadie, will arrive in Oslo today. All other team members arrived in fine condition. Mother Nature caused some last-minute flight changes due to the unseasonably hot weather in departure cities. All road blocks were dealt with and solved.

Coach Nancy Gyes arrived first at the Thon hotel and greeted team members as they arrived.

Team supporters stayed two blocks away in the lovely Bristol hotel. The bus ride from the airport was short, so Toni Osojnicki, organized a tour of Oslo. Today the fans and supporters started their trip to the world-renowned Fjords.

Dogs and handlers have one day to relax and enjoy Oslo. Nancy Gyes and Assistant Coach Kathie Leggett will meet with local agility enthusiasts to prepare for tomorrows practice at the soccer center. Team Leader Sharon Anderson and Osojnicki will return to the airport to pick up team member Allison Parr and guide her through the vet check at border control (which ran smoothly yesterday as all dogs arrived).
