USA TAKES THE GOLD IN THE LARGE DOG TEAM AGILITY COMPETITION!!!!

Today the team competition begins with the large dog team competing on the standard course followed by their jumping course, with the small and medium dog teams rounding out the day with their team jumping event.

The course for the large dog teams seemed rather straight-forward, however, this type of course can be misleading. Running in seventh position, Team USA lead off with Wendy Pape & Surf, who ran the course beautifully with a time of 39.75. Ann Braue and Spree were next, also running the course with style despite a slip after the broad jump, coming in with a time of 39.19. Anchoring was Gerry Brown and Sterling, who also had a slip after the broad jump but recovered nicely with a time of 38.31. All three were clean and solid, giving a fantastic showing for the large team. Large dog Team USA ran 7th in today's team competition and placed 1st.

USA FINISHES IN 7th PLACE IN THE MEDIUM DOG TEAM OVERALL COMPETITION!

The jumper's course for the medium dog team had a variety of challenges, making sure that all the handler and dog teams were working efficiently. Laura Dolan & Remi started the team off with one refusal but an otherwise fine run at a time of 40.61. Helene Juice & Chance followed with a great run and a clean time of 35.17. Anchoring the medium team was Jean Lavalley & Taz, also with a fast, clean run and a time of 30.92.

USA AND THE SMALL DOG TEAM OVERALL COMPETITION!

The jumper's course for the small dog team had many interesting areas, not the least of which was the entry to the weave poles, which surprisingly didn't cause as many problems as many had thought. Glenda & Bailey started the team off with a consistent and clean run of 34.58. Dee Anna & Kelsi followed with a nice run but unfortunately had a wrong course from #10 to #11 as the dog went out too far and back-jumped. Her time was 35.18. With Erin & Jag bringing up the rear, they also had the same problem with #10 and #11 and came in with a time of 34.39 to go along with the wrong course penalty.

USA TAKES 7th PLACE IN THE LARGE DOG TEAM OVERALL COMPETITION!

The jumper's course for the large dog team was very technical with handling being the major concern, especially over the broad jump into the weave poles. Running as the last team due to holding first position, Team USA led off with Wendy Pape & Surf who gave a fantastic performance with a clean time of 33.21. Next came Ann Braue & Spree who also gave an electrifying run with the time of 32.75. The anchor was Gerry Brown & Sterling, who began the run very fast, but with the speed Sterling had over the broad jump, she just couldn't make it in to the weaves pulling two refusals and a dropped bar over the last obstacle. What a heartbreaking finish to a phenomenal team effort!
