2003 World Agility Championships
September 26-28, 2003 - Lievin, France
2003 World Team Selections Announced - July 1, 2003

The following dog/handlers have been selected for the AKC/USA World Agility Championship Team. They will represent the AKC at the FCI Agility Championships in Lievin, France on September 26, 27, 28, 2003.

This selection is pending a satisfactory result of the Titration Test that is required to enter France. Just in case, alternates have been selected to fulfill the number of team spots (to a minimum of 4 per team).

Three dog/handler teams will compete in each height class, 14", 18" and 26" as part of the team event. Additional dog/handler teams have been selected to compete in the Individual competition. This year the USA is allowed 10 individual runs (instead of the typical 9) due to Erin Schaefer and Jag, Shetland Sheepdog, winning the Gold medal last year in Dortmund, Germany.

The dog/handlers were selected for the team competition based on each dog's consistency from the following events:
  • The AKC Agility Nationals held in Katy, Texas
  • The Iams International Sweepstakes Class, Katy, Texas
  • The World Team Invitational held in Minnesota on May 17 & 18, 2003
Dog/handlers selected for the Individual competition were based on the dog's placements first through third at the above-mentioned events.

Team leader Sharon Anderson and coach Dan Dege will be proud to work with the following team members.

Please join us in congratulating the following individuals and their dogs, and wish them continued success, as they represent the USA, AKC and its sponsors the Iams Corporation, and Canine Advantix.
