Day Three

September 23: Submitted by Carrie DeYoung

Another sunny day greeted the team in Lille, France. The morning started out with Team photos at the hotel. All of the team patiently had their pictures taken for almost an hour. The lovely morning made for good photos and a good reason to be out in the french air.

The afternoon brought the first practice since the team left US soil. The French Team rented a basketball facility in Witte, France in which they laid carpet and brought in agility equipment. They extended a welcome invitation to the USA team to use the facility for practice. Coach Dan Dege had various exercises set up to help the team work out the kinks and get their footing on the carpet. The dogs and handlers worked hard to get their timing on the slick carpets. By the end of practice the dogs and handlers were working well together and are looking forward to getting to their practice at the show site tomorrow. The Mayor of Witte as well as two newspapers came by to meet and greet the USA Team.

The Team Supporters pep rally was the grand finale for the day. There was great food, good times and practice for the supporters to help develop their cheering and dancing skills. Marq Cheek thrilled the crowd with his skit especially done for the US Team and supporters.
