2003 World Agility Championships
September 26-28, 2003 - Lievin, France
Day Two

September 22: Submitted by Carrie DeYoung

Day 2 started with rain clouds but turned to sunshine as the team arrived for their day trip in Brugges before the serious competition and work begins. The town of Brugges in Belgium proved to be one of the best European villages. The cobblestone streets with horsedrawn carriages mingled with the bicycles and small cars on the narrow streets provided a true European experience for the team dogs and supporters. The many shops with lacework shops offered good shopping as well as the experience of watching an experienced lace maker tatting fine Belgian lace. Brugges is the "Venice of Belgium" with it s canals and boats that travel as taxis throughout the city. All of the World Team dogs enjoyed the boat ride as well as the nearly 50 Americans accompanying them.

Day Three will begin with the team photo to be followed by our first opportunity to practice on equipment on carpet which is being provided by the French team. All dogs and handlers are ready to prepare for the intense competition they face over the next few days with the 30 other countries represented at the World Agility Competition.
