World Team Arrives in Germany

The AKC/USA Agility World Team -dogs, handlers and cheering squad - arrived sleepy, but in "great shape," according to Team Captain, Sharon Anderson. Coming from all across the USA, the group met in Frankfurt, Germany then continued by bus to Dortmund, site of the 2002 World Agility Championship.

The weather in Dortmund on Monday was a sunny 68 degrees. After the lengthy flights and bus ride, team members and dogs enjoyed long walks as well as a hearty meal and a good night's sleep.

Tuesday provides well-deserved relaxation and sight seeing for the USA group in nearby Cologne. The beautiful old city has one of the largest cathedrals know to man. Also on the tour schedule is a chocolate factory where visitors can watch the delicate sweets being made and a fountain that spouts warm, rich chocolate for visitors to sample.

After the day of rest and fun, the team will be back to work on Wednesday. They will stretch and warm up canine and human muscles. They will practice and talk strategy with Coach, Dan Dege. They will prepare to represent agility lovers across America.
